The Satellite Carrier Reconnaissance and Analysis System (SCL-SACRAS) is designed to detect a multitude of satellite and VSAT links operating over numerous geostationary satellites in the C, Ku, and Ka-bands. SCL-SACRAS significantly reduces the time needed to scan the satellite spectrum and identify target carrier frequencies, thereby expediting the intelligence-gathering process for agencies. Its capability to detect payloads without full-fledged interception allows for faster decision-making and enhances intelligence collection from identified links.
The advent of carrier-in-carrier technology in satellite modems presents a unique challenge for link identification. However, SCL-SACRAS effectively addresses this challenge by detecting the use of carrier-in-carrier technology on target satellites.SCL-SACRAS can detect various satellite links, including Point-to-Point satellite links for international voice networks, GSM Abis backhaul links, IP Gateway over Satellite, and VSAT networks from major manufacturers like iDirect, Hughes, and Gilat. By utilizing both spectrum and technical analysis, SCL-SACRAS ensures comprehensive detection of selected carriers, with results stored in a database for operator reference. Furthermore, its portable configuration makes it especially effective in identifying optimal locations for receiving targeted Ka-band frequencies.
